Our Vision in Action
The Church of England Vision for Education stresses the importance of church schools seeking to develop children's spiritual development. Spiritual development enables people to look within themselves, at their human relationships, at the wider world and at their vision of the divine with characteristics such as courage, hope, acceptance, strength and love, so that they are equipped to face the sufferings, challenges and opportunities of human life in all its fullness.
Our school vision is inspired by the words of St Paul, written in a letter to the Philippians: "Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you." (Philippians 4:9) He was letting the people know that they should follow his words and actions, because he was following the teachings of Jesus. We too can seek out good examples and take great care when choosing our words and our actions so that we can live together in peace. We believe that by living out Christian values of Kindness, Honesty and Respect, we can all Belong, Believe and feel Joy.
We hope that we can always follow and set good examples. We believe our words and actions at St Mark's really can change our world. This can be on a small scale, making a difference to our school, our families and our community. or it can be on a larger scale when we care for the Earth's resources.
Please see below some of the things that we have been doing at school in order to live out our vision.
