The aim of this funding is to provide additional support so that children from more disadvantaged backgrounds can reach their full potential. Although all children in KS1 are eligible for free school meals, all parents on lower incomes should still apply for Pupil Premium funding which may be used to support their child in other areas of their learning at school.

Pupil Premium funding can be spent at the school's discretion. All schools are asked by the local authority and the government to report on how this money has been spent and how it has made a difference to the children whom it has been used to support.
